Upper Cabinets
Standard upper cabinets are about 29 cm deep.
For most people, (depending on your height and how tall the carpenter thought you would be) the bottom of the upper cabinets is the most important space in your kitchen. It is at eye level, easy to reach, and out of the way of children. It is important to make great use of the space!
The shelf up is less convenient, and hard to see to the back. Usually it is still reachable. Here is where you store things that take up the whole shelf, like dishes. Or you can store categories of things - in containers.
The top shelf is usually not reachable without a stool, and is either for storage or less often used objects.
*Remember, adding shelving, fixing hardware, and adjusting shelves are easy and doable, so make your shelves work for you!
